In facing the challenges in transforming the agriculture sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry has formulate a number of policies and strategies to be implemented in enhancing competitiveness and productivity in line with the national socio-economic changes. Rapid global change in various fields and dimensions especially in information and communication technology demands mastery of the use of information in the acquisition and dissemination of new knowledge and technology.

With the globalization and the out burst of economic growth is no longer dependent on traditional methods of doing things but the success of a nation depends on its ability to develop its economy based on knowledge.
